A member representing Abua/Odual constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Henry Ogiri has commended the state government for embarking on massive road construction in the area.
Hon Ogiri gave the commendation while commissioning some new items procured by the council to boost the local government secretariat in Abua.
According to the legislator, the award of contract for the construction of Agada I junction to link communities in Otapha district and Omokwa roads project were an indication that the state government was bent on transforming the area by making the people feel the impact of Governor Chibuike Amaechi government.
Hon Ogiri said though, the initial proposal was to include the Otapha and Okpeden road projects, the former had been taken up for immediate construction.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of on-going projects embarked upon by the present administration in the area, adding that the construction of Akeodi Oyaghiri’s Information Technology and Communication Centre, when completed, will be of great assistance to youths in the area.
The legislator also pledged support to the council Chairman, Mr Udi Odum for embarking on projects to transform the lives of the people.
Earlier, the Chairman of the council, Mr Udi Odum had thanked the people of Abua/Odual for choosing him to serve as their servant, and promised not to betray their trust.
Mr Odum stated that under his administration, an open door policy will be adopted where decisions would be collectively taken by the people, and promised to embark on people-oriented projects.
