The Pan -Ogoni Democratic Movement (PODM), has felicitated with the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. (Hon.) Chibuike Amaechi, on his election as the gubernatorial flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2007 elections in the State.
In a press statement issued in Port Harcourt and signed by the President of the organization, Chief Victor Giadom, the President described Amaechi, as credible, competent and has the wherewithal to sustain the political fortunes of the administration of the State governor, Dr Peter Odili.
According to the statement, Rt. Hon. Amaechi remained one of the few that had a good grasp and understanding of the policies and programmes of the government, adding that his achievements as speaker RSHA, humility and great sense of fellow-feeling, earned him the PDP ticket.
The statement called on members of the PDP in the state to bury their differences and rally round the flag-bearer to ensure success at the polls.
It also lauded the party hierarchy in the state for the mature manner it conducted the governorship and other primaries in the state.
