Former Secretary to the Rivers State Government and Head of Service, Chief Sampson Agbaru has described the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi as an active politician and illustrious son of Ikwerreland who is capable of giving quality leadership to Rivers State.
Chief Agbaru, who stated this during a meeting of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 7, Rundele at the weekend, said Amaechi possessed the charisma to rule the treasure base of the nation and pointed out that the Speaker’s bold steps, humility and sense of responsibility translated in his overwhelming acceptance by the Rivers people.
He appealed to all Rivers people to support Hon. Amaechi as he expressed optimism that the Speaker would deliver the dividends of democracy to Rivers people.
The former SSG remarked that Amaechi’s management of the RHSA was a testament of his leadership qualities and noted that the legislature had been peaceful as well as prolific in lawmaking.
Also speaking, the Secretary of Emohua Local Government Council, Hon. ThankGod Okannah, urged eligible voters in Rundele to be part of the voters registration exercise.
Hon. Okannah told Rundele indigenes to desist from acts capable of tarnishing the image of the community and called on the Rivers people to eschew violence, unnecessary suspicion and such acts capable of truncating the nascent democracy.
Earlier, the chairman of the unit, Chief Elendu Kpanikwu had explained that the meeting was convened to inform members of the recent political development in the country.
He prayed God to give Hon. Amaechi the needed leverage to emerge as the governor of the state during the general election.
