The Rivers State House of Assembly has been applauded for the timely approval given to the state supplementary appropriation budget bill 2007.
Speaking at the Assembly complex on Wednesday, Mr. Christian Ekeji, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in the state commended the lawmakers for the quick passage of the bill in time.
Mr. Ekeji noted that this singular gesture shown by the state legislature is an indication that they were in for service to the state.
He noted that the cooperation and understanding that exist between the state legislature and the executive arms shows that democracy has come to stay in the state.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain stated that by this passage of the supplementary appropriation bill 2007, the state governor, Sir Celestine Omehia was better placed to complete the on-going projects in the state as promised.
He urged the lawmakers to continue in such team work between the executive and the legislature for the benefit of the state.
